In January 2005 Pastor David Story became JOY Community Church’s Pastor. David answered the call to ministry that God has placed in his heart. He accepted the call to minister at JOY through a declaration of faith and a loving exchange of commitment given mutually between JOY’s family and David during his Ordination Service on December 12th, 2004.

Pastor David spent time in study under JOY’s founding Pastor, Bill Bonham and continues his education through on-line courses in addition to the traditional methods of classes, seminars and Christian conferences. David believes that education is a lifelong process and that this is simply one part of that process. He strongly believes that time spent daily in personal prayer and study of God’s Word provides us the true foundation we need in our ever- growing faith.

Pastor David considers his purpose in ministry to be helping people apply God’s Word in their daily lives. There is a very real, very practical application to our directive from Jesus in Mark 12:29-31.. To love your neighbor as yourself. Pastor David believes when we begin to understand and truly accept the magnitude of God’s love for us (see John 3:16), we strive to live our lives in loving obedience to our Father. We do for others in a spirit of love, knowing that salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by our efforts as Christians.

Pastor David considers himself blessed abundantly and counts his family as a great treasure. Together with his wife Sheri, a dedicated servant of God’s Kingdom, they are blessed with 5 precious children: Morgan, Lauren, Greg, Mag and Nick and reside on the Westside of Cincinnati.
